Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I bring a family member, child, or friend?
A: Absolutely! Feel free to bring any guests with you that you would like, including children. If you plan on bringing guests, please let us know ahead of time so we have an estimate of how many volunteers to expect.
Q: Can I take pictures of/with HER Cincinnati Program Participants?
A: As an organization, it is a priority for us to protect our clients’ privacy. Visitors must get permission from individuals in our programs before taking pictures of them or with them. If you wish to use their photo on social media or in any capacity, please get their permission to do so.
Q: I’m not sure which program I fit in as a volunteer. What should I do?
A: If you aren’t sure where you fit in, or would like to learn more, please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form below to the best of your ability and let us know in the comments section! We are happy to have a conversation with you to help you figure it out.
Q: Will I need to have a Background Check or Drug Screening to volunteer?
A: Some of our volunteer opportunities, but not all, will require a Background Check and Drug Screening as part of our onboarding process. HER Cincinnati covers the cost of both.
Q: Is there an age minimum for volunteers?
A: There is no age minimum! However, some volunteer opportunities require those under the age of 18 to be accompanied by an adult (21 years or older).
